A qualified HomeCare Manager hired by the Regional Administrator and approved by the Vice President, HomeCare and the Governing Body to administer, direct and coordinate the activities of the HomeCare agency.
Line of Authority:
Regional Administrator; Director of HomeCare Services, VP HomeCare
Licensed Registered Nurse in the appropriate state where agency is located with at least 2 years supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related health programs; or
Training and experience in health service administration and at least 1 year supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related health programs.
Performance Requirements:
Able to be on feet standing or walking at least 8 hours per day.
Able to lift 70-80 lbs on occasional basis.
Able to bend, stoop, squat and twist numerous times a day.
Able to see and hear adequately in order to respond to auditory and visual requests which relate to the coordination of program activities..
Able to speak in clear, concise voice in order to communicate direction for homecare programs and department heads.
Able to carry out fine motor skills with manual dexterity.
Mental acuity high enough to adequately perform job requirements.
Able to learn, absorb and apply professional training.
Able to organize work procedures, assume responsibility and tactfully supervise others.
Must have reliable personal transportation.
Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration of the HomeCare agency as set forth in the Conditions of Participation for HomeCare under the direction of the Board of Directors.
Implements all policies and procedures of NHC HomeCare.
Oversees the growth, planning, delivery and evaluation of all home care services.
Coordinates and integrates all operations of the HomeCare agency.
Supervises operations of branch offices, if applicable, through ongoing communication with the branch Director of Services.
Participates in administrating the annual budget.
Reports to the Governing Board and Vice President, HomeCare any changes that affect the agency.
Meets regularly with department heads (Office Manager and Director of Nursing) to coordinate and review activities in view of achieving the goals of the HomeCare agency.
Meets with department heads to solve administrative problems.
Coordinates activities of agency staff to prevent overlapping of, or duplication of, functions, responsibilities, or supervision.
Enforces NHC policies governing conduct of employees, working hours and salary.
Develops cooperative relationships with other agencies for exchange of information and services. Works with community agencies and referral sources/individuals to develop understanding of HomeCare.
Authorizes purchase of supplies and equipment within budgetary guidelines.
Conducts and coordinates staff meetings monthly.
May contact local, state and national associations and may participate in meetings and conventions as approved.
Maintains strong knowledge base of all Federal and State HomeCare regulations as well as professional standards through attendance at workshops, conferences, professional organization meetings and individual research and reading.
Responsible for integration, evaluation and ongoing intervention to promote Continuous Quality Improvement.
Coordinates Advisory Board Committee.
Delegates and evaluates Utilization Review.
Coordinates and approves recruitment, hiring and termination of personnel.
Communicates with Regional Administrator and Director of Clinical Services regarding operations of agency.
Assures resources are available to ensure effective home care services are provided.
Serves as the agency's Section 504 Coordinator (oversees administration of anti-discriminatory policies, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Civil Right s Act of 1964).
Investigates and resolves complaints and grievances, including those related to HIPAA privacy/confidentiality issues.
Performs other responsibilities which are required or assigned in order to support the success of NHC HomeCare.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
